After almost thirty years of debuting his first film, Spike Lee has released a spunky reboot of the very film that started his career on Netflix, She’s Gotta Have It. The show reveals the trails and errors that main character Nola Darling encounters as a young black woman trying to balance a love life with her artistic career. After joining the bandwagon a viewer I began to develop a love/hate relationship is Nola’s character. Read more to find out why.
In case you missed it, here’s the round-up for the first week of Freedom School. Scholars spent time getting to know their classmates and college interns through the Integrated Reading Curriculum in the classroom (which included activities like reading in groups and acting out narratives in the books to bring the stories to life). They also participated in Harambee! and of course experienced some cool field trips!
